Types of Pain and Problems

RSD/Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

RSD is also known as complex regional pain syndrome. This is a chronic neurological syndrome causing severe, intense pain along with changes in skin, excessive sweating, tissue swelling and sensitivity to touch. RSD occurs most often after an injury that does not follow normal healing. There does not seem to be any correlation between the magnitude of the injury or the location. There is no definite test to diagnose RSD; however, your health care provider will be able to assess your medical history and objective findings and recommend the treatment right for you. There are many treatments currently being used for RSD. The earlier the diagnosis, the better results obtained. Among the many treatments are hyperbaric oxygenation therapy and Ketamine infusion therapy.
